About Colin

A career in ice hockey built around people, teams and performance.

Colin Müller at the rink

Colin Müller is a Swiss ice hockey coach with more than 20 years behind the bench in high-performance hockey. He has coached in Switzerland's National League, in Germany's DEL and with Swiss national teams at Olympic Games and IIHF World Championships. Before that, he played 17 professional seasons and won the Swiss championship in 1998.

Most recently, he led the Swiss Women's National Team to Olympic bronze at Milano Cortina 2026.

Those years taught him that games are rarely decided by tactics alone. They are decided by people: how they talk to each other, how they respond when a game turns, how leaders make calls under pressure and how trust holds a group together.

"Every role has strengthened my belief that lasting success comes from people working together with purpose, trust and a commitment to getting better every day."
— Colin Müller

Today, drawing on decades of experience in elite sport, Colin offers independent advice, mentoring and consulting to coaches, athletes and sporting organisations. Hockey has been at the centre of his life for more than 35 years, and he is glad to pass on what it has taught him.

Approach

Experience you can use.

Two decades in high-performance ice hockey bring a perspective no textbook can teach.

This isn't life coaching. It's experience-led mentoring and consulting, built on decades of working with athletes, coaches and teams at the highest levels of sport.

Colin mostly listens first. Then he asks questions, sometimes uncomfortable ones, and tells you honestly how he sees it. He has been a player, an assistant and a head coach, so he usually knows how a situation looks from the other side too.

  • Perspective

What he brings from decades of experience.

  • Judgment

  • Trust

Testimonials

What players and coaches say

"In my three years as Colin's assistant coach, he became an invaluable mentor, and he still is. He pushed me to look beyond the immediate result, to understand what a team truly needed and to trust my own judgment. He sees both the individual and the bigger picture: how people think, communicate and work together under pressure. He asked thoughtful questions, gave honest guidance and left me room to find my own voice as a leader. Now that I'm a head coach myself, he continues to help me build on my own strengths. His influence on me goes well beyond hockey."

"Colin brought me into the team as mental coach ahead of the Olympics. That says a lot about him: he knows performance starts in the mind, and he gives specialists the room to do their work. He trusted me from day one and encouraged the players to open up to the mental side of the game. You could feel the impact across the whole team. Colin doesn't lead through control but through trust, and that is exactly what helps people grow beyond themselves."
